Goeree-Overflakkee
Inspiration walls have been placed at A Seal (seal shelter) in Stellendam and the Middelharnis Wharf in Middelharnis. On these walls you will find an overview of some tourist highlights on het island of Goeree-Overflakkee. In addition, it is also possible to make live contact with a staff member of the tourist office with a video connection. DestinatieX came up with the concept and led the project management. Alderman Tea Both put the walls into use on Thursday 12 December 2019.
Inspiration wall
In March of this year the VVV Inspiration Point Goeree-Overflakkee was opened. Island marketing Goeree-Overflakkee immediately launched the plan to also be able to personally address residents and visitors in other places on the island. The solution has been found in these inspiring walls.
On the walls you can see a map of the island on which the highlights of Goeree-Overflakkee are displayed. This allows visitors and residents to orientate themselves and gain inspiration to further explore the island. There is a touchscreen in the wall, with which you can find extensive information about restaurants, accommodations, routes, events, attractions and museums.
“This gives the experience value of Goeree-Overflakkee a boost. With these walls, the entire island can be presented from one location. We are also responding to the changing wishes and needs of guests who visit our island, we can provide them with more and better information, “says Tea Both.
On the screen there is also a button with which contact can be made with someone from the VVV Inspiration Point (tourist office) that is located in the village of Ouddorp. If the button is pressed, a video connection will start. With the video connection the user and the inspiration employee can see each other and a conversation can be conducted. In this way, a personal form of service can also be offered remotely. And people and visitors are helped with questions.
Locations
The first two walls have been placed at Seal shelter A Seal in Stellendam and the Middelharnis Wharf in Middelharnis. Discussions are currently taking place with the Oude-Tonge Shopping Center for a third wall.
The realization of the Inspiration Walls was created by a contribution from the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee, the Goeree-Overflakkee Heritage Line from the Province of South Holland and the Middelharnis Wharf.
