"His combined experience in public administration and tourism enables him to advise you on different tasks and challenges."
Tourism is in his DNA—he grew up on his parents’ campsite. It was no surprise to anyone that his studies focused on tourism. He then switched to a degree in public administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam and graduated with a thesis on social self-management. Throughout his career, he has experienced the industry from all sides: from a branch organisation, from a company, as a civil servant, a municipal councillor and from various DMOs and tourist offices.
His combined experience in public administration and tourism enables him to advise you on organisational, administrative, policy, tourism and marketing tasks and challenges. Passionate about travel, he has been to more than 70 countries, which is often a source of inspiration for him. Combine that with a love of innovations and digital applications, and the result is a great mix for contemporary projects.
In 2014, he supervised the merger of the tourist offices in Zeeland. He led the organisation for several years with projects such as the creation of innovative inspiration points, quirky marketing campaigns (“Not everyone likes Zeeland”) and innovative information techniques (e.g. The Zeeland Information Distribution System). He launched DestinatieX in 2018, through which he supports destinations in the Netherlands & Belgium.
