The question
The Achterhoek needed an ambitious vision of routes in the Achterhoek. Special routes and route networks are part of the distinctive character of the Achterhoek and the region wants to further strengthen this outdoor profile. The need was to place a dot on the horizon for this, which will form the basis for implementation agendas in the coming years. The horizon for this is 2035.
Our approach
Together with Achterhoek Tourism, we discussed the topics that should be addressed in the vision. These topics are bundled into five program lines: high-quality route networks, routes as a total experience, visitor management, branding and findability and activation & participation. This has led to a draft version on which stakeholders have also provided feedback. Some ambitions have been visualized by AI and included in the vision.
The result
The result is a route vision for the Achterhoek with a horizon of 2035.
