Drenthe

The question

There are currently ten local, regional and provincial organisations that are involved in tourism-recreational marketing, information provision and hospitality. The collaboration between these organisations is going well, but the parties have found that it can be improved. The Northern Court of Audit also drew the same conclusion in an earlier study. The parties have concluded that they want to jointly formulate how the marketing and information provision of Drenthe would be organised in the most ideal case. This project was carried out by Bureau voor Ruimte en Vrije Tijd in collaboration with DestinatieX.

Our approach

Together with Bureau voor Ruimte en Vrije Tijd a plan of approach was drawn up. For example, discussions were held with the various organisations and municipalities, a desk study of relevant documents was carried out and a working session was held with the organisations.

The result

The result is a final report in which an analysis is first made of the current situation. On the basis of this, a (content) desired image is formulated, so that a shared horizon is created for all parties. This also makes clear what the difference is between the desired situation and the current situation. This desired image is also discussed with the organizations and converted into a possible division of roles and tasks between the various organizations. Subsequently, it is elaborated what this means for the organization and structure. We have elaborated this in four possible scenarios including the advantages and disadvantages and a concrete step-by-step plan. On the basis of the report, the parties can jointly enter into discussions about the future (both content-wise and organizationally).
