Inspiration points: a contemporary location where experience, sales and interactivity come together.

Belevingsprojecten

An inspiration point is an innovative tourist information tool based on four principles: experience, inspiration, sales and interactivity. An inspiration point is a location where people are inspired by the destination and tempted to do more than they initially planned. An inspiration point offers a genuine tourist experience with a clear identity. The location or company’s DNA is incorporated into the inspiration point’s colours, materials and stories.

An inspiration point:

  • Is an innovative concept in which inspiration and the identity of the company and its surroundings are key to the design;
  • Is not a store; it is a place where experience and inspiration are central, both in the atmosphere of a clear, locally charged theme and in the atmosphere of the surroundings. The place also offers space for the sale of a product range that fits the experience and the story;
  • Is intended to make people stay longer;
  • Tells stories instead of listing products and services;
  • Aims to not only have guests ask questions, but also to inspire them through the space and the staff (using the experiences in the space);
  • Is interactive; visitors can be active and interact with digital and non-digital resources.

In practice, this means a design with lots of visual material and limited text, several interactive elements, colours/textures/materials that match the identity of the company or the environment, a combination of digital and non-digital resources, and a contemporary look. An inspiration point can take the shape of a store, a reception, a tourist office, etc. Moving guests with experience and emotion plays a role in every consumer sector and offers countless opportunities for new, contemporary concepts.
